In my eyes you're flowers to the bees
In a keeper's costume no stings but no hive
Complete with a beret and a will in case I die
Just lemon cake no insect wants to touch
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I look for prophecies in the rustle of the leaves
Sun rays awake me from my daydreams
I continue to plow knowing you're around
No sprinkler irrigates like my heart when I cross your sight
Invisible wind propelling turbines, rustling trees
Yet it surrounds me and warms me
Moving huge storm clouds to paint the prettiest skies
Humid and futuristic, so artificial your blow
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
My retina's never witnessed you
But I'd ret in a farm pond
Like a citrus fresh before the fall
Happily awaiting your arrival
"Memory Closet" 01/09/2026
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Vulnerable in a cloudy Friday night
The end of an era, the beginning of the year
With it, a new road ahead
And a new me too, I fear
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I stare at the stars, could they tell me?
What to do in these times? Am I ready, am I enough?
"You can only see the future by looking at your past"
I heard the wind whisper, or at least that's what I thought.

Hesitant, I draw back to my old closet, its doors wide open.
The shelves tower above me, full of boxes and stuff.
I quietly move my nearby chair to step on
I reach for the top of the top, trying not to be rough.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
A Jenga of time, relics of a life
It all rumbles as I slowly pull out
Plastic trophies tumble, paper stacks shovel into each other
"Uh oh" time is coming for me, and it's not holding back
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Literally. It all comes crashing down.
I lose my balance, paper cuts, ornament shards, tape sticks to my arms.
Tangled in jumping ropes, stained by almost dry paints.
Board game pieces into my mouth, who knew time could hurt this much?
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I hit the ground. Crushed by boxes, covered by worksheets and exams.
Did it all matter? Does it matter now?
My fall was hard, it made the closet incline.
Crushed by nostalgia, I die in the past, but my spirit lingers for what's past.
